Rambo Bushwacker Review: How Well Does This Electric Hunting Bike Perform In The Wild?

The Rambo Bushwacker 750W XPC is one of the best electric hunting bikes on the market. It’s designed specifically with the hunting lifestyle in mind.
Rambo calls the Bushwacker the “perfect Midwest bike”.
In this in-depth Rambo Bushwacker review we take a closer look at why hunters in the Midwest and anywhere else in the United States love the Bushwacker 750W XPC electric hunting bike by Rambo so much.
Rambo Bushwacker Review: How Well Can It Handle Ascents And Descents?

Rambo Bikes states that the Bushwacker 750W XPC hunting ebike “won’t climb Mount Everest” but “It’s gonna get you pretty much wherever you need to go”.
Rambo Bushwacker Review: Let’s Talk About The Motor
Image: ©Rambo Bikes
The Rambo Bushwacker 750W XPC is equipped with a Bafang 750W BBSHD High Torque motor.
It’s a powerful mid drive motor with plenty of torque and power to get you up and down hills or help you haul your gear into, and your big game out of the backcountry.
Mid drive motors are especially good at hill climbing and this beast can be controlled by a thumb throttle on the handlebar.
I also always recommend checking the peak power (wattage) output of the motor for better hill-climbing capabilities.

The Bushwacker 750W has a nominal power rating of 750 W but a peak power rating of 1000 W.
That’s great news because I found that, everything else being equal, any electric hunting bike with at least 1000 W peak performance turns out to be a good hill climber.
One other detail I especially like about the Bushwacker is the fact that the thumb throttle that’s mounted on the right side when the ebike is first delivered can also be mounted on the left side of the handlebar.
It’s a nice touch that enables a higher degree of customization and personalization to accommodate your personal preferences and riding style.
However, if you prefer 1000 W you can find more alternatives in my review of the Best Electric Hunting Bike.
Rambo Bushwacker Review: Let’s Talk About The Brakes
Image: ©Rambo Bikes
Having a powerful motor demands very capable brakes and I’m very pleased to see that Rambo opted to equip the Bushwacker electric hunting bike with hydraulic brakes.
This hunting ebike has Tektro 2-piston hydraulic brakes (Tektro HD-E350) with a 180 mm rotor both at the front and at the rear.
Image: ©Rambo Bikes
It’s a sensible decision but having these high-quality components also explains why a premium electric hunting bike like the Bushwacker by Rambo comes with an equally premium price tag.
However, it’s money well spent.
Just imagine how satisfying it feels when you can confidently tackle any descent even if you’re hauling your big game back to your truck after a successful hunting trip.
Rambo Bushwacker Review: How Well Can It Handle Off-Road Terrain?
Image: ©Rambo Bikes
Since the Rambo Bushwacker 750W XPC was purposely designed to give hunters an edge, it comes as no surprise that this electric hunting bike loves off-roading and hunting in stealth mode.
The Bushwacker hunting ebike excels when riding on mountainous terrain and sand and can give you a real adrenaline kick when you feel all of that power kicking in.
It comes with a great camo paint called “TrueTimber Viper Western Camo” which helps you blend into your surroundings very well.
With the Bushwacker 750W XPC you can travel very quietly deep into the wilderness and enter your stand in stealth mode without much more than the sound of a whisper.
You can quickly and effortlessly check your game cameras regularly and in a fraction of the time it would take you to do the same job on foot.
You can scout large areas of your land without stressing out the animals because you’re not producing fumes, smoke, or noise while moving around.
Rambo Bushwacker Review: Let’s Talk About The Tires
Image: ©Rambo Bikes
Equally important for a great hunting experience are the tires of your electric hunting bike which is why we take a closer look at them in this chapter of my Rambo Bushwacker review.
The Rambo Bushwacker 750W XPC hunting electric bike is equipped with Maxxis Minion FBF, FBR 26 x 4.0” fat tires.
These fat tires feature a nice tread that’s great for traction on rough and rugged terrain as well as on more slippery grounds covered with snow or mud.
The double wall RIM also helps to keep debris and sticks from getting into the tires.
Of course, as with all fat tires, you can adjust the tire pressure according to the terrain you’re riding on but 7-15 psi is generally the optimum.
Rambo Bushwacker Review: Let’s Talk About The Suspension
Image: ©Rambo Bikes
I’m a big fan of inverted front suspension forks on electric hunting bikes, especially the more powerful ones because this type of fork provides for much more rigid and firm handling at higher speeds or on more challenging terrain compared to a “regular” suspension fork.
Rambo decided to equip the Bushwacker 750W XPC hunting ebike with the GT MRK 860 Air fork which is an inverted fork.
It has the rigid part on top and the moving pistons down below for a cushy smooth ride and more rigid and sturdier handling in the long run.
I like it a lot.
Rambo Bushwacker Review: Let’s Talk About The Seat
The Bushwacker 750W XPC electric hunting bike comes with a good quality Selle Royal A027HEO saddle.
Rambo Bushwacker Review: Let’s Talk About The Gearing
Image: ©Rambo Bikes
Another detail about the Bushwacker I like is the internal hub.
Unlike many other hunting ebikes, the Bushwacker doesn’t have a derailleur and an exposed gearing system that could be attacked by all sorts of debris, sticks, grass, etc
Instead, it features a 5-speed Sturmey-Archer internal hub that protects your ebike and your chain etc. from any damage from all of that which is great for hunting, isn’t it?
It also has 80mm wide double-wall rims w/o holes.
Rambo Bushwacker Review: Let’s Talk About The Cockpit
Image: ©Rambo Bikes
In this next section of my Rambo Bushwacker review, we’ll examine the cockpit.
The cockpit of the Rambo Bushwacker electric hunting bike is stylish and functional. It includes the PROMAX handlebar that’s 770 mm wide for a more balanced feel.
I also like that the handlebar can be adjusted slightly forward or backward by turning or swiveling it to accommodate different arm lengths and reach by different hunters.
The stem is PROMAX MA-50 and the grips are G225-1 Lock-On grips.

The Bushwacker motor can be controlled by a handy thumb throttle that is attached to the handlebar close to the grips.

Also on the handlebar is the twist shifter to communicate with the 5-speed Sturmey-Archer internal hub.
The full-color DP C10.UART LCD display gives access to the Pedal Assist Modes among other things and is clearly readable and well-lit.
Rambo Bushwacker Review: How Much Weight Can It Handle?
As with other comparable premium electric hunting bikes the Rambo Bushwacker 750W XPC can carry up to 300 lbs. in weight.
Rambo Bushwacker Review: Let’s Talk About The Trailer
If you need to transport more weight or chunkier items, (maybe some big game?) Rambo offers different types of trailers, anything from cooler trailers to hauling gear or kayak trailers.
Rambo Bushwacker Review: What Range Does It Offer?
The range is often considered an important factor when choosing an electric hunting bike and I’ve also included it here in my Rambo Bushwacker review as well.
However, it’s kind of a difficult topic to cover because the range you can travel depends on so many different factors, many of which are out of the hunter’s control.
According to Rambo Bikes, The Bushwacker 750W XPC electric hunting bike has an estimated range of up to 35-38 miles on a single battery charge.
Rambo Bushwacker Review: Let’s Talk About The Battery
Image: ©Rambo Bikes
It comes with a capable 48 V 14 AH battery that delivers a total of 672 Wh.
Image: ©Rambo Bikes
The battery is frame integrated and consists of numerous lithium-ion batteries.
Assuming that 1 mile consumes 1 Wh of energy, a total of 672 Wh gives you a theoretical distance of 33.6 miles on a single battery charge without any pedaling.
Please remember as always that this is just a theoretical number that can be used to have a standardised way of comparing the range capabilities of different electric hunting bikes.
Your actual range will depend on many factors outside the control of the hunting ebike manufacturer or brand but by using the above formula you have a means for a meaningful comparison.

At the time of writing this, Rambo offers the Bushwacker 750W XPC as a Limited Edition with a few differences from the regular version.

However, the front hub is still the same KT-M9CF 150mm sealed.

Rambo Bushwacker Review: Ease Of Transportation
The Rambo Bushwacker electric hunting bike has a strong frame made from aluminum alloy 6061 and weighs a total of 66 lbs.

Rambo Bushwacker Review: Is It eBike Law Compliant?
