The Rambo Prowler 1000 XPE is a well-thought-out, purpose-built premium electric hunting bike.

It’s a hunting ebike that loves challenging terrain and is the perfect companion for hunters, explorers, trailblazers, and extreme adventurers.

This hunting electric bike from Rambo is designed using only premium high-quality components that in the aggregate produce a hunting machine that’s very powerful and extremely capable.

The frame comes in Rambo’s exclusive TrueTimber VSX camo paint pattern and is prepared to handle all sorts of attachments, from a great rear rack to a strong trailer.

With the Prowler 1000 XPE electric hunting bike you can certainly stow tons of gear or quickly haul your big game out of the deep woods after a successful hunt.

In this Rambo Prowler review, I dive into all the details that make the Prowler by Rambo one of the best electric hunting bikes on the market today.

Rambo Prowler Review: Hill Climbing

The Rambo Prowler is a great hill climber even if you’re planning on loading a lot of weight or hauling a trailer.

Rambo Prowler Review: Let’s Talk About The Motor

Rambo Prowler Review Of Motor

Image: ©Electrified Reviews

That’s in large part due to the Bafang 1000 W Ultra-Mid Drive motor.

This beast has 1000 W of nominal wattage and a peak rating of 1500 W. Awesome.

Combine that with a maximum torque of 160 Nm and you can see why the Prowler electric hunting bike does not disappoint.

Taking into account that the Ultra Mid-Drive motor can leverage the gearing for even more torque or speed it’s easy to see why the Prowler is so ridiculously powerful.

It’s a torque-sensing motor. That means it’s equipped with a super smooth, super precise torque sensor that’s much more efficient with the battery life.

The torque sensor makes sure the motor only gives you the power that you need exactly when you need it. This makes the off-road riding experience that much more natural in feel as well as significantly more efficient.

If you prefer a hunting bike with less power check out my article about finding the best electric hunting bike for your needs.

Rambo Prowler Review: Let’s Talk About The Brakes

Rambo Prowler Review Of Brakes

Image: ©Electrified Reviews

To control all of that power, the Prowler hunting electric bike by Rambo comes with powerful Tektro HD-E725 4 Piston Hydraulic brakes in the front and the rear.

The front brake has a 203 mm rotor while the rear brake has a 180 mm rotor.

These brakes have an excellent bite which is especially great for when you’re hunting deep in the woods in wet or muddy conditions.

Rambo Prowler Review: Off-Roading

Rambo Prowler Off-Roading

It almost feels like an insult to question the off-roading capabilities of the Prowler given the fact that this electric hunting bike was purposely built to conquer the wild.

However, in the next 2 sections of this Rambo Prowler review, I will detail two essential components for any premium hunting eBike, namely the tires and the suspension.

Rambo Prowler Review: Let’s Talk About The Tires

Rambo Prowler Review Of Tires

Image: ©Electrified Reviews

The Prowler electric hunting bike by Rambo has a Maxxis Minion FBF 27.5” x 3.8” fat tire in the front and the Maxxis Minion FBR 27.5” x 3.8” fat tire in the rear.

These fat tires are designed specifically for trail riding.

They offer outstanding traction on slippery terrain, especially when airing them down.

Thanks to their huge air volume these fat tires also provide some extra cushioning which is nice, especially on very rough terrain.

The tires are protected and held in place with a double wall rim w/o holes and 70 mm in width.

Rambo Prowler Review: Let’s Talk About The Suspension

Rambo Prowler Review Of Suspension

The Rambo Prowler hunting ebike has an inverted front fork which has shown itself to offer superior handling, especially when riding at higher speeds or turning corners.

It’s the fully adjustable GT860 Inverted Air Fork Suspension with 120 mm of travel.

This suspension is pretty smooth and great for leveling out bumpy trails, and turning huge tree roots into little twigs feeling-wise.

Rambo Prowler Review: Let’s Talk About The Seat

Rambo Prowler Review Of Seat

Image: ©Electrified Reviews

The Prowler electric hunting bike has the Selle Royal A027HEO saddle as standard. It’s a classic, high-quality, water-resistant saddle that’s pretty comfortable.

However, I always find seats are a very personal thing. A seat might be comfortable for one person and less so for another.

In either case, I think the Selle Royal A027HEO won’t disappoint and if you prefer a different seat for your hunting trips you can always change it at any time, right?

Rambo Prowler Review: Let’s Talk About The Gearing

Rambo Prowler Review Of Gearing

Image: ©Electrified Reviews

The Rambo Prowler electric hunting bike features a continuously variable transmission system from Enviolo. It’s a rear gear hub that offers a much wider range of gearing compared to more traditional derailleurs.

The Enviolo Silent Hub is very similar to a 9-speed but it automatically locks the gearing whenever the drive train is under stress.

This makes changing gears very similar to riding a motorcycle (by briefly taking the foot off the gas to shift) and helps to prevent damage to the system.

The Enviolo hub also has the advantage of infinite gear settings with its huge 380% gear range.

It’s very easy to adjust the settings to match the type of terrain you’re riding on with the Prowler’s Hillside Indicator. By simply twisting the shifter back if you’re on flat ground and forward if you’re tackling a steeper slope, for example.

Rambo Prowler Review: Let’s Talk About The Cockpit

Rambo Prowler Review Of Cockpit

In this section of my Rambo Prowler review, we explore the cockpit which is sometimes overlooked but plays an important role when hunting in the backcountry.

The handlebar of the Prowler is the PROMAX 770 mm which you can also find on many other premium Rambo electric hunting bikes. Its width is great for helping to maintain good control.

Rambo Prowler Review Of Grips

Image: ©Rambo Bikes

The MA-50 stem is also made by PROMAX and the 100 mm Velo grip feels awesome and has a 122 mm lock on to avoid any slippage.

Rambo Prowler Review Of Display

Image: ©Rambo Bikes

The DP C10.UART digital display is big, beautiful, and bright enough to be easily readable even in very sunny conditions. If that’s not enough you can easily adjust the angle of the screen to fit your personal preferences.

The handlebar features the thumb throttle in a convenient location. The independent control pad for the display is mounted on the left of the handlebar and the effective twist shifter is on the right side.

Rambo Prowler Review: Load Capacity

Like all other Rambo premium electric hunting bikes, the Prowler can carry up to 300 lbs which is probably more than enough for most hunting trips.

However, Rambo also offers great racks and trailers in case you need them to carry your gear or haul your deer stand or your deer, for example.

Rambo Prowler Review: Range Capabilities

Rambo estimates that the Prowler hunting ebike will give you a range of approximately 40 miles on a single battery charge.

However, I need to point out that more powerful motors like the Bafang 1000 W Ultra Mid-Drive eat up a lot of energy which is why I don’t recommend riding the Prowler using throttle-only mode too often or for too long.

Instead, if you use low-level pedal assist the battery will last much longer.

However, bringing a second battery along is sound advice for any electric hunting bike. You might not need it but it’s comforting to know you have enough energy to safely get back. That also adds peace of mind for your loved ones.

Rambo Prowler Review: Let’s Talk About The Battery

Rambo Prowler Review Of Battery

Image: ©Electrified Reviews

The Rambo Prowler comes with a capable frame-integrated Samsung battery with 48 V and 17 AH.

This pack of the very best lithium-ion batteries is lockable and removable.

It produces a total of 816 Wh which translates into a theoretical range of 40.8 miles (given that 1 mile traveled consumes 20 Wh) on a single battery charge without any pedaling.

That’s certainly an impressive number compared to many other electric hunting bikes on the market today.

Rambo Prowler Review: Top Speed

The Rambo Prowler can easily reach a speed of 30 mph in throttle-only mode.

Using a high level of Pedal-Assist mode you might even reach a faster top speed when pedaling on flats.

But the Prowler doesn’t just impress with its top speed. It also has very impressive acceleration.

Rambo Prowler Review: What Upgrades And Addons Can You Buy?

In this section of my Rambo Prowler review, I take a closer look at some other details of the Prowler that you might find interesting and useful.

The Rambo Prowler electric hunting bike has a KT-M0CF 150mm sealed front hub. In the rear, it has the Enviolo CVT rear hub.

It has the Rambo Custom 44T Narrow Wide chain ring and the Wellgo B807DU pedals that are common on many Rambo electric hunting bikes.

Thanks to a great modular motor design and the integrated controller disassembly, repair, or maintenance are extremely easy.

I also like the fact that the Prowler comes with lots of bosses all over the frame to attach useful upgrades.

You have 4 bosses on the down tube to attach a bottle cage or battery holder, for example. You have another 4 bosses on the stem to attach a load-bearing basket. You also have a few sets of bosses at the rear of the frame for a rear rack or trailer.

The Prowler has a frame made from high-quality Aluminum Alloy 6061 which makes it super rigid and capable of handling rough terrain.

It has a total weight of 70lbs which makes it one of the slightly heavier Rambo premium electric hunting bikes which is to be expected given that you have a very powerful motor and battery that both contribute to the overall weight.
