The RadRover 6 Plus is the updated version of its predecessor the RadRover 5 Plus.
RAD Power Bikes, the company behind the RadRover 6 Plus that got its name from its founder Mike Radenbaugh has produced an electric hunting bike that is pure function and fun.
It’s designed to handle all types of weather, climb hills and ride across all sorts of terrain while carrying loads of gear which makes it a great choice for the best electric hunting bike.
Let’s dive right into my Radrover 6 Plus review and take a closer look at why the RadRover 6 Plus performs so well in a hunting environment.

For many hunters being able to climb up steeper hills is of paramount importance.
Equipped with a 750 W motor and a 7-gear system connected with a 42-tooth chain ring this hunting ebike can climb!

The 750 W motor of the RadRover 6 Plus electric hunting bike is a hub-drive motor
It’s designed by Rad Power Bikes in-house and features 5 levels of pedal assist together with 12 magnet cadence sensors.
Considering it’s a hub-drive motor, this hunting ebike delivers a surprisingly natural feeling riding experience when using the Pedal Assist System.
It also feels stronger than the RadRover 5 Plus even though I’m not quite sure why.
To control the motor you have a grip twist throttle on the handlebar that’s great for adjusting the amount of power you want the motor to deliver.

As part of this Radrover 6 Plus review, I want to stress that the hydraulic-disc brakes on the RadRover 6 Plus are another highlight, in my view.
For starters, I think Rad Power Bikes made the right decision to equip such a powerful bike with equally powerful hydraulic brakes.
They have a nice bite to them giving you the confidence that you’re in full control regardless of whether you go very fast or down a steep decline.

Finding fat tires on an electric hunting bike is nothing unusual.
Many brands have included them with their electric hunting bikes because of the extra stability they offer to the hunter.
Fat tires are also popular because they allow for a wide range of different air pressures which in turn improves the comfort and handleability for different terrains.
For example, higher air pressure makes the tires harder which is beneficial for riding on a paved road.
Lower air pressure makes the tires slightly softer which provides more comfort when riding off-road across more rugged and rough terrain.
I really like that the fat tires by Kenda Juggernaut 26″ x 4″ include the K-Shield puncture-resistant liner. That’s a great upgrade especially when you encounter more rocky terrain.
The RadRover 6 Plus hunting ebike comes with double-wall aluminum alloy rims with 36 holes and a width of 75 mm.

The RadRover 6 Plus is a hardtail hunting ebike.
That means it comes with a front-suspension fork but without any suspension at the rear wheel.
It’s a popular setup with many electric hunting bike brands.
The RadRover 6 Plus suspension has less travel than the suspension on its predecessor the RadRover 5 Plus.
While the 5 Plus had 80 mm travel, the 6 Plus has 60 mm travel.
Contrary to my initial reaction, when conducting research for this Radrover 6 Plus review I found the suspension on the 6 Plus feels better and produces a better experience when riding this hunting ebike.

The RadRover 6 Plus comes equipped with an ergonomic seat that also has lifting handles.

The 7-speed gearing system on the RadRover 6 Plus performs very well and gives the hunter enough range to fine-tune the amount of power and cadence needed for any given terrain.
Shifting gears which is done using a nice 7-speed thumb shifter feels precise and compact which is good news for the motor, too.

The RadRover 6 Plus comes with a nice wide handlebar that gives the rider a similar feeling to a mountain bike.
With a width of 700 mm, it helps the hunter to achieve a more stable position.
Add in the 4-inch rise and you can ride for longer without feeling too much strain in your back or neck.

RAD Power Bikes have added some nice and durable imitation leather grips that have a comfortable and ergonomic feel to them.
The RadRover 6 Plus features 2 LCD displays on the handlebar which I think is a great idea. You can access different information at a glance when you’re riding without having to use your hands to make any changes to the display.
Of course, you can still choose what numbers are most important for you, such as the battery charge indicator, the current pedal-assist level, the current speed, mileage traveled, or even the current time, etc.
Based on my Radrover 6 Plus review if I had to make a suggestion, the only thing I would improve was the backlighting of the smaller LCD display to make it easier to read on a sunny day.
Radrover 6 Plus Review: How Much Weight Can It Handle?

The RadRover 6 Plus best electric hunting bike can carry a total weight of 275 lbs which is on the lower end of the spectrum compared to other more expensive hunting ebikes.
But given the attractive price point of the RadRover 6 Plus it’s still an awesome option if you don’t need that much load capacity or if you intend to haul most of your gear on a trailer, for example. Radrover 6 Plus Review: How Far Can It Travel?
According to Rad Power Bikes they estimate that depending on how you ride your RadRover 6 Plus you should expect a range somewhere between 25-45 miles per charge.

That seems like a realistic estimate to me.
With a 48 V 14 Ah battery, you have access to a total of 672 Wh. If you consume 20 Wh for every mile traveled you can theoretically travel for 33.6 miles without pedaling until the battery is empty.
When ElectricBikeReport tested the range of the RadRover 6 Plus they were able to travel with an average speed of 18.3 mph using the highest level of pedal assist until the battery was empty after 28.5 miles.
When they repeated that test using only the lowest level of pedal assist while still moving with a speed of 10.7 mph on average, they reached a distance of 50.5 miles on a single battery charge.
That’s probably sufficient for most hunters out there but if you require more range you can always bring a second battery along to effectively double your range immediately.
The semi-integrated battery can also be recharged using the 48V, 2 Amp Rad Power Bikes smart charger which operates on 100V-240V AC power outlets.
The RadRover 6 Plus is also equipped with a 48V, 750W frame-integrated controller.

The frame of the RadRover 6 Plus electric hunting bike is made from 6061 aluminum alloy.
The ebike weighs 73.4 lb (33.3 kg) in total and the battery on its own weighs 7.7 lb (3.5 kg).

I wanted to include the pedals on the RadRover 6 Plus in this Radrover 6 Plus review as they are built on a forged aluminum platform with reflectors for extra safety.
They have a standard 9/16″ x 20 TPI threading and a CrMo axle.

The RadRover 6 Plus comes either as a High Step or a Step Through model both with a frame size of 14.8” and a Stand Over Height of 22.5”.
RAD Power Bikes recommends the RadRover 6 Plus for hunters with a height of 5’2″ – 6’2”.
For the RadRover 6 Plus High Step, they recommend an inseam between 30.5’’ – 36.5’.
For the RadRover 6 Plus Through Step, they recommend an inseam between 25” – 33.5”.

The RadRover 6 Plus is a strong contender fighting for the title of best electric hunting bike.
It’s a hunting ebike that will be a great addition to any passionate hunter’s arsenal.
However, I also want to mention a few things in this Radrover 6 Plus review that I am not so keen on.
I guess if I had a choice I’d personally prefer a thumb throttle over a twist throttle because I think the former is easier to handle when walking with your ebike and you don’t want to accidentally twist the throttle.
I’d also prefer the smaller display to have a stronger backlight to make it easier to read in sunny conditions.
These are 2 minor issues that others might not even encounter and overall I think the RadRover 6 Plus is an effective and capable electric hunting bike.
